Ory Kaïro

Ory Kaïro is a self-taught artist who has been painting since childhood, long before she learned to walk or talk. Her artistic journey has been shaped by both the joyful and painful moments in her life, from the loss of her beloved father to enduring war and personal struggles like bullying. Despite the hardships, Ory Kaïro has always turned to art as a way of processing and expressing these experiences. Her work has been exhibited in Ukraine, though the ongoing war has forced her to continue her artistic journey abroad.
Ory Kaïro primarily works with acrylics, and occasionally oils, using her paintings to express the complexities of her emotions, heritage, and the resilience of her homeland. Born in Ukraine, a country rich in history and culture, Ory Kaïro has witnessed the horrors of war firsthand, especially since her native city has been under russian occupation since 2014. This deeply personal connection to the ongoing conflict, along with her hope for peace and victory, profoundly influences her work. Her gratitude to Canada, which has sheltered generations of Ukrainians, also plays a significant role in her creative process.
Ory Kaïro's art is multi-layered, expressive, and deeply personal. Each piece reflects her unwavering hope and the resilience of her people, serving as a tribute to her roots and the enduring spirit of Ukraine. Painting is not just a passion for Ory Kaïro, but the very core of her existence, allowing her to explore and preserve her culture while offering her audience a window into a rich, emotional universe.
